The programs at Highland Farm Preschool are designed to enhance the development of young children according to their individual needs. We recognize that each child is a special person and we shall work to maximize his/her social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

The Highland Farm Preschool offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum centered around these intertwined areas of development. We strongly feel that these are the bases for skills a child must meet before he/she is ready for a curriculum that emphasizes the teaching of letters, numbers, reading and writing in a structured manner. Our curriculum philosophy is a child interest program versus a teacher-focused style. It is our belief that children learn from what they are interested in. The teachers create rich experiences to support the children’s knowledge, theories, and to expand on “teachable moments.”
